Well, if the beginning is so breath-taking, what would be the actual hike be like? You can't wait to find out, can you? So off you go striding on easy pace--solo or in group.
Of course it is a good idea to relieve yourself of nature's calls. The restroom is an outhouses, but it is pretty well kept.
Back packs would not be a bad idea. Lot of us carried them. But one thing absolutely essential is to have a camera and plenty of films to capture the play of lights in the deapth of the woods. Most time you might be walking in damp and dark shades under the rocky carvings that look like alien being on watch over your progress.
